Happy Chanukah, everyone! Communities across Long Island are inviting you to join them in celebrating the Festival of Lights with menorah lighting ceremonies, fun family activities and more all week long!
Amagansett Menorah Lighting
Where: Amagansett Fire Department, 439 Main Street, Amagansett.
Shine the light of Chanukah throughout East Hampton and enjoy Chanukah treats and take part in the lighting of the public Menorah on Thursday, December 2, at 5 p.m. at the flagpole near Amagansett’s Fire Station.
Chabad of Oceanside Menorah Lighting
Where: 3700 Oceanside Road W., Oceanside
Celebrate the lighting of the giant outdoor menorah and bring a gift for the final day of the Chanukah Toy Drive on November 28. And more fun is on the way with Light Up the Night and Chocolate Gelt Drop (December 2) and Chanukah on Ice (December 5).
Chabad of Port Washington Menorah Lighting
Where: North Hempstead Town Park, Bar Beach
The Spread the Light Chanukah celebration continues with the Let There Be Light festivities and menorah lighting on Sunday, December 5 at 4:30 p.m. The event is drive-in style with optional seating, and there are two giant screens. There will be fireworks, live music and more.
Chai Center and Chabad of Mid-Suffolk Grand Menorah Parade
Where: Chabad of Mid-Suffolk, 318 Veterans Memorial Highway, Commack
Cars line up on November 28 at 5 p.m. and then hit the road at 6 p.m. for a drive There will be donuts and latkes for all, and a fire and juggling show during the menorah lighting.
Kings Park Menorah Lighting
Where: Kings Park Jewish Center, East Main Street, Kings Park
Holiday music selections followed by Rabbi Abe as he retells the story of the meaning of Chanukah and the lighting of the Menorah. Gelt and dreidels for the kiddies. All are welcome. In the event of rain, the ceremony will move indoors.
Massapequa Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony
Where: Klestinec Park, Broadway in Massapequa (adjacent to Pequa Park Florist), Massapequa
Please join the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Massapequa Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 4 at Klestinec Park on Broadway in Massapequa.
MenorahCade & Dynamo Dogs
Where: Herrick Park, 67 Newtown Lane, East Hampton.
Join the fun leaving Chabad at 17 Woods Lane at 3:30 p.m. on November 28 and driving through the streets of East Hampton to Herrick Park, ending in the lighting of the six-foot menorah and an amazing dog show at 4 p.m.
Montauk Menorah Lighting
Where: Kirk Park, 95 S. Emerson Avenue, Montauk
The light of Chanukah shines at The End with a celebration starting at noon on December 5 including Chanukah treats and the lighting of the public Menorah.
Port Jefferson Station / Terryville Chamber of Commerce Menorah Lighting
Where: Chamber Train Car, Southeast Corner of Rt 112 & Rt 347, Port Jefferson Station
The lighting of the menorah ceremony begins at 4 p.m. on November 28 at the Chamber Train Car.
Town of Oyster Bay Chabad: Chanukah Spectacular
Where: 327-392 South Oyster Bay Road, Plainview
Join Town of Oyster Bay Chabad’s annual Chanukah celebration on November 28. This year’s family friendly event will feature vaudeville stunt act David Darwin, who you’ll see juggling, dancing and singing with both legs behind his head in an act that earned him an appearance on America’s Got Talent. Festive music and Chanukah foods such as latkes and jelly doughnuts will be there to make celebrating the joy of Chanukah an experience to be remembered. The highlight of the event will be the Grand Giant Menorah lighting. All children will receive Chanukah Gelt of one crisp dollar bill.
Village Chabad Stony Brook Giant Menorah Lighting + Comedy Juggler Jester Jim
Where: Village Chabad, 360 Nicolls Rd, East Setauket
Come have some fun on Night Number One! Ring in Chanukah together as a community on November 28 at 3:30 p.m., before celebrating at home with family! Enjoy the grand lighting of the tallest menorah in Suffolk County and an amazing performance by Juggler Jester Jim. There will be hot cocoa, latkes, chocolate celt, Chanukah music and fun for the whole family
Village of Northport and Chabad of Mid-Suffolk
Where: Northport Village Dock
On Sunday, December 5, come for donuts, latkes, live music and more as the outdoor menorah is lit in Northport.
