How do you define the concept of “home?”
A place where we feel comfortable, safe, and secure.

Any listing that is priced properly and where the sellers have faith in my guidance.

What do you love most about your career in real estate?
Helping others! Meeting and connecting with different people and assisting them with accomplishing their future dreams, whether they are buying or selling.

What is your favorite Long Island getaway and why?
The North Fork. It offers a rural feel with beautiful vineyards and fabulous farm stands, a laid back/relaxed vibe, and beautiful water views and beach access.

What truly makes you laugh out loud?
I can be a bit goofy sometimes, so most often I laugh at myself.

What’s the best movie or series you’ve seen about real estate—and what would you say about it to people considering watching it?
House Hunters International, but people should understand that although these house-hunting shows are fun, they are set-ups. The decision has been made/home has oftentimes been purchased prior to the show being produced. I love to travel, so it is fun to explore the varied destinations on the shows.

When you were a kid, how would you have answered the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
I feel truly fortunate that I found a career as a successful Realtor about 16 years ago. I have had other successful careers—as an educational administrator for a NYS youth at-risk collaborative program, and before that, as a middle and high school teacher. However, I have always been intrigued by traveling, so when I was young, I wanted to be a flight attendant.

What 3 words best describe your professional self?
Knowledgeable/Informative, Dedicated, Caring.

Where do you find inspiration, personally and professionally?
In having daily gratitude, also in nature—the sky, the ocean, as well as from others who serve and “do good”, like my brother, Dr. Irwin Redlener, and his wife, Karen Redlener, who created an organization to assist Ukrainian refugee children called the Ukraine Children’s Action Project. They further inspire me to do what I can to help others in my daily and professional life.

What’s the craziest question you’ve ever been asked about real estate…and can you share your answer?
As an ex-teacher, I believe all questions are important! I am all about educating my client’s and customer’s.

What skill or talent do you wish you had?
I sing a bit, but wish I was better.

What is the biggest mistake most first-time home buyers make along the way toward finding a first home?
Overextending themselves financially. Also, ignoring my recommendations/feedback on properties and offers.

With so much information available online, what are some of the dangers/mistakes people make when using the internet in their home-buying or home-selling journey, and what are the advantages of working with a professional that the internet cannot provide?
I have been involved in real estate for a very long time, even before I became a Realtor. A good Realtor is on top of the market and can guide you and offer constructive feedback on specific property as well as assist with the entire home-buying and/or selling process. It is risky to attempt to sell as a FSBO [For Sale by Owner] or flit from Realtor to Realtor when home shopping, and you will more likely lose money that way.

Sellers want to sell for the best price and buyers want to purchase for the best price. It is important to have a knowledgeable, professional Realtor to ensure that happens.

What is your favorite room in your own home and why?
[I] completely renovated my home so I love how it turned out. However, since I love to cook, I have to say the kitchen is my favorite room and where I find the most peace when I am preparing food for friends and family.

What motto do you try to live by?
Do unto others…

Describe your perfect day on Long Island.
Well, since I live in Long Beach, it has to be a day relaxing at the Beach and a late day BBQ with friends.
