“O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches!”
Bright green trees certainly do provide festive cheer, and inspiration for “O Christmas Tree,” originally released by Ernst Anschütz in 1824. As we enter the December, there’s magic in the air, and communities across Long Island are ready to celebrate the holiday season with tree lighting ceremonies. Many of these free ceremonies are great for kids, as they serve up cups of hot chocolate or offer meet-and-greet sessions with Santa Claus.
Barbecues, beach trips, back to school...wait, not so fast! We’re riding the last waves of summer here on Long Island this Labor Day weekend, so don't pack up the sunny vibes just yet.
